Description

You’re bidding on a handcrafted guitar that began as an idea, took shape by hand, and was built with intention, patience, and tradition. Every detail was shaped in a small workshop in Westport, Connecticut — where craftsmanship, story, and heritage come together. This instrument is one-of-a-kind, created to inspire, built to last, and meant to be played for generations.

The puzzle-like pattern on the body, formed by pieces of maple, mahogany, and black resin, is inspired by a rug my grandmother wove decades ago on her loom in Transylvania. As a kid, I spent my summers at my grandparents’ home in the countryside, and I remember sitting nearby, watching her work the loom with quiet focus and care. She made every tapestry by hand — one thread at a time — creating pieces that were functional, beautiful, and deeply personal. That rhythm, that patience, that sense of purpose has stayed with me, and it became the heart of this design.

Construction

  • Scale Length & Radius: 25.5-inch scale, 12-inch fretboard radius for optimal playability.
  • Premium Tonewoods: Handcrafted body featuring Mahogany and Maple for a rich, resonant tone, embedded with black resin.
  • Carbon fiber-reinforced Mahogany neck with Maple inlays for superior stability. Slotted Mahogany headstock with a black resin top.

Pick-ups

  • Hand-wound Custom 1960s Andy Powell Signature Pickups, by Pete Flynn. Neck Pickup: Rough Cast Alnico 2 Magnet, 42 gauge Plain enamel wire, 7.4 kΩ, with a custom cover, offering warmth and clarity without losing detail. Bridge Pickup: Rough Cast Alnico 2 Magnet, 42 gauge Plain enamel wire, 8.4 kΩ, with a custom cover, delivering slightly hotter output with singing sustain and harmonic richness that cuts through a mix without harshness.

Wiring

  • Vintage correct wiring: MojoTone Dijon .022μF Capacitor – Vintage style tone cap for a smooth, musical roll-off. 500k CTS-style potentiometers – classic specs for humbuckers, delivering clarity and dynamic range. Shielded cloth-covered wire thorough, for low noise and vintage aesthetics.

  • Black chrome Schaller Signum Wraparound Bridge with adjustable brass saddles. String spacing (E/e): 52.5mm (2.067 inches).
  • Schertler Slotted Tuning Keys with an 18:1 gear ratio for exceptional tuning stability.

About the Pickups

This guitar features a hand-wound set of 1960s Andy Powell Signature Pickups by Pete A. Flynn.

These signature pickups were designed in close collaboration with Andy Powell of Wishbone Ash, and a wind with a special slant to deliver tone and dynamics tailored for the stage, with sweet, vintage-style response and natural compression, capturing the feel of early PAFs with added dynamics for modern playing.

Pete’s pickups don’t just replicate a tone — they revive a feeling. They’re made to sing, to respond, and to inspire. I intentionally chose Pete as the pickup maker for /myōōz/guitars, not only for their sound, but because his pickups carry the same spirit I try to build into every part of this guitar: character, soul, and a connection to something timeless.
